OBJECTIVES:
Psychomotor:
The students will be able to demonstrate basic skills of inline skating:
- Standing
- Falling
- Ready position
- Waddle walks
- Forward/backward skate
- Brake (heel and “pie”)
- Turns (quarter, half, three-quarter, full)
- Forward and backward swizzles
- Slalom skate
Cognitive:
The students will be able to:
- Identify the health benefits from aerobic exercise, specifically rollerblading
- List and apply all the “Rules of the Road” (see attached) – Safety rules
- Explain the importance of all protective gear needed for inline skating
Affective:
The students will be able to:
- Understand the importance of safety for oneself and others
- Inline skating etiquette
- Implement proper care of equipment
- Demonstrate teamwork through cooperative activities
