OBJECTIVES:

Psychomotor:

The students will be able to demonstrate basic skills of inline skating:

  • Standing
  • Falling
  • Ready position
  • Waddle walks
  • Forward/backward skate
  • Brake (heel and “pie”)
  • Turns (quarter, half, three-quarter, full)
  • Forward and backward swizzles
  • Slalom skate

Cognitive:

The students will be able to:

  • Identify the health benefits from aerobic exercise, specifically rollerblading
  • List and apply all the “Rules of the Road” (see attached) – Safety rules
  • Explain the importance of all protective gear needed for inline skating

Affective:

The students will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of safety for oneself and others
  • Inline skating etiquette
  • Implement proper care of equipment
  • Demonstrate teamwork through cooperative activities
