South Country School Principal’s Message

Dear South Country Families,

Welcome to South Country School!

At South Country, we have approximately 600 scholars in third through fifth grades.  We are one of two intermediate schools in the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø School District.

At South Country School, we believe that each scholar is unique and special.  We provide an educational environment where learning is fun as well as challenging by offering a variety of learning experiences.  Instruction is constantly differentiated throughout the day to meet the varying needs of our scholars.  Remedial, as well as accelerated, classes are offered to our scholars throughout the school day and during our extensive extended-day program.  Our ultimate goal is to have each scholar develop a love for learning and to encourage all of our children to become lifelong learners.

The home-school connection is highly valued at South Country School.  South Country parents and the South Country Parent Faculty Association (PFA) continually support our school and our programs.  Recently, the PFA purchased Smartboards for all of our classrooms.  In addition, the South Country PFA pays for field trips and assemblies throughout the year.  The support of our parents is crucial in providing our scholars with the best education possible.

South Country teachers and staff are knowledgeable, dedicated and caring.  Teachers focus on the “whole child” as they meet the social, emotional, physical and academic needs of each scholar.  Paraprofessionals are in each classroom to provide assistance to scholars and staff.  The staff at South Country School provides a structured, but nurturing classroom environment for all of our scholars.

If you have any additional questions about South Country School, please call the school at 631-968-1250.

Together we give, we gain, we grow.

Warmly,

Johnna Grasso

Principal
