Jim Mitchell Invitational
On Sunday evening, the boy's track team competed at the Jim Mitchell Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York. The Marauders had an outstanding evening racking up some impressive early season performances. Senior Cordell Nix took gold in the 55 meter high hurdles narrowly edging team mate Malik Hinds who settled for silver. Nix then went on to take second place in the triple jump with Bradley Pierre right behind him taking the bronze medal. Omari Buckmire teamed with Malik Hinds in the long jump where they took first and third respectively. Michael Schmidt rounded out the individual highlights with his 2nd place finish in the pole vault. The 4x200 meter relay team of Jaquan Moore, Oliver Hendricks, Kelvin De Los Santos, and Bradley Pierre took 6th place overall with a time of 1:37.4. Rounding out the Marauder's evening was a 5th place finish in the 4x 1 mile relay, with the team of Jeffrey Reyes, Michael O'Donnell, Luciano Fiore, and Michael West. Next up for the squad is another trip to the city for the Bishop Loughlin Games on Saturday.
