勛圖窪蹋厙 Defeats Previously Unbeaten Commack & Ward Melville!!!
This was the battle of the undefeated, with the 勛圖窪蹋厙 Girls defeating Commack 24-31. Commack upset pre-season #1 Sachem East in the first meet of the season! 勛圖窪蹋厙 also beat a very good Ward Melville team 22-33, to run its record to 5-0. Roshni Singh placed second to Commacks Fiona McLaughlin, running 17:02. Sydney Carpenter had another big race for 勛圖窪蹋厙, placing third running a pb 17:31. Catie Surian ran well in placing sixth with a time of 18:14. Keda Zepherin ran a pb 18:16 to place eight. Zoe Feigel clinched the victory with a pb 18:58 to place twelfth. Sophia Trifoli was out with a sore ankle. Brianna Christie was twenty-third running 20:06 with eighth grader Riley Gargan also running a pb 20:06. Sabrina Simonetti ran 20:58 placing twenty-ninth. Morgan Wiig ran 21:23 and placed thirty-second. There were 76 runners in this three team race!!! Diana Velasquez ran her first XC race, and ran 22:29! Fynn Haughney ran 23:11, Megan Keach 25:16, Alexa Paleologopoulos 25:27, Leslie Mendez ran a pb 25:29, Racquel Benson 29:46, with Noelle June running 29:48. Very big win for 勛圖窪蹋厙, which sets up the final meet with Sachem East, who is 4-1. Upcoming Meets: Tuesday October 9, 2018 Sachem East @ Sunken Meadow. Bus will leave BSHS at 2:45pm. 勛圖窪蹋厙 competed in the Suffolk Coaches Meet at Sunken Meadow, and won the Varsity B Race for the second year in a row! Each varsity race is seeded equally. Roshni Singh once again led the way for 勛圖窪蹋厙, running a very fast 19:49.06 to place second to Mount Sinais Sarah Connelly. Sydney Carpenter continues to get better every race, placing eleventh with a time of 20:56.88. Catie Surian placed nineteenth running 21:56.42. Keda Zepherin placed twentieth running almost a minute faster than a year ago, with a time of 21:57.99. Sophia Trifoli ran 22:47.90 to place 39th. Zoe Feigel, coming back from a calf injury, placed 40th with a time of 22:48.71. Brianna Christie placed 61st running 23:55.53. In merging all the races of the day, 勛圖窪蹋厙 was the top Suffolk County School, finishing ahead of Smithtown, Mount Sinai, West Babylon, Kings Park and Sachem East, all ranked in New York State! Alexa Paleologopoulos ran her first ever 5k finishing with a time of 31:32.11. Racquel Benson also ran her first 5k with a time of 31:44.58. In the Freshmen race, eighth grader Riley Gargan ran 9:40.22 to place 3rd. Morgan Wiig ran 9:53.92 to place 5th. Megan Keach ran 12:16.43, with Leslie Mendez running 13:04.34.
