Crew Team - NYS Scholastic Championships

What a wonderful May weekend it was to be a ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Marauder on the water! The crew team traveled to Saratoga to compete in the New York State Scholastic Championships! On Saturday morning, May 11th, all of the girls and boys boats flew through time trials and advanced onto their semi-finals, a first in ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø history! On Saturday afternoon both the novice girl’s and boy’s eights competed in the grand finals. The Novice Boy’s Eight earning Bronze in their grand final and the Novice Girl’s Eight had an impressive race winning gold and the title of State Champions!

On Sunday morning the varsity boats battled fast crews in their respective finals. The Boy’s Varsity 4 placed 2nd, Girls Varsity 4 placed 3rd, and the Boy’s Varsity Lightweight 8 placed 4th. The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Crew Team is a spring only sport and they competed against schools that practice and race during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Considering our team only starts practice in March are victories really show the rowers dedication and hard work!

2nd Place Boy’s Senior 4: Trevor Zuch (Captain), Kevin Coomey (Captain), Marc Barreda, Thomas Sanders, and Coxswain Anthony Caligure.

3rd Place Novice Men’s 8: Patrick Anzalone, John Corrado, Trevor Wynne, Nicholas Moreira, Richard Duran, Michael Antonucci, Connor Bainbridge, Fabio Espinal, and Coxswain Thomas McLoughlin.

4th Place Boy’s Lightweight 8: Victor Cerabino, Ian Maerki, Joshua Adams (Captain), James Brewer, Patrick Anzalone, Ruairi Heslin, Christian Poblano, Tim Keogh, and Coxswain Shaelynn Hickey.
