OBJECTIVES:
Psychomotor:
The students will:
- Participate in various tag games
- Demonstrate proper spotting technique for ground-based activities, low and high elements
- Be able to climb various ascending elements
- Physically support (spot) others
Cognitive:
The students will be able to:
- Identify the life skills needed to achieve success in a group
- Recite the commands for climbing and trust activities
- Identify the 3 levels of comfort (comfort, risk, and panic)
Affective:
The students will be able to:
- Become active listeners
- Demonstrate decision making skills
- Employ strategies to improve communication and listening skills
- Evaluate and assess effectiveness of group strategies
- Respect that others may have different, but equally important needs
- Appreciate the need to step outside his/her comfort zone to experience personal growth.
- Deliver and accept feedback from peers.
- Care about the physical and emotional safety of others.
- Communicate with others in a positive and productive manner
- Actively contribute to the cooperative success of a group to attain a common goal.
- Understand the importance of getting to know someone before making judgment on someone’s character
