Summary

At ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø our primary commitment is to the well-being of the students and school-community we serve. When the 2020-2021 school year begins, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø will look much different than previous years due to the COVID-19 health crisis. ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø School District Reopening Plan provides clear guidance for safely reopening schools and aligns with the regulations developed by New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED)

The areas outlined in the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø School District Reopening Plan represent the myriad considerations we will address to reopen schools in a safe manner to ensure that students and employees feel comfortable and safe returning to school.  It is important to note that our plan retains a strong focus on academic instruction to enhance student performance and address the COVID-19 learning loss.  An emphasis on the social-emotional needs of our students is a priority and has been addressed within our plan.

It is possible that we may need to alternate between in-person and distance learning throughout the year due to guidance from Governor Cuomo, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED)³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø School District Reopening Plan is fluid and will change as necessary based on such guidance.  We strongly believe the services described throughout this plan are in the best interests of our students, families, staff, and community.

³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø School District’s Assistant Superintendent for Business, Maureen B. Virsinger, will serve as ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø School District’s COVID-19 Coordinator to ensure that the district is in compliance and following the best practices per state and federal guidelines. Krystyna Baumgartner, Public Relations Specialist, will serve as the central contact for schools and stakeholders, families, staff and other school community members.
