SOFTBALL OBJECTIVES:

Psychomotor:

Students will demonstrate proper form and technique while performing the following skills:

  • Ready position
  • Throwing
  • Catching
  • Fielding ground and fly balls
  • Batting
  • Base running

Students will:

  • Anticipate ball directions and move to the ball

Cognitive:

The students will be able to:

  • Name and explain player positions
  • Identify lines/boundaries of the playing field
  • Use appropriate terminology during play and practice
  • Understand scoring in softball
  • Categories softball as a lifetime activity
  • Identify venues in the community to play softball recreationally

Affective:

The students will:

  • Communicate with peers in a positive and productive manner
  • Exhibit leadership
  • Understand importance of followership
  • Demonstrate accountability for responsibilities to their peers
  • Appreciate the importance of engaging in lifetime activities to promote wellness
