OBJECTIVES:
Psychomotor:
The students will be able to:
- Perform a developmentally appropriate resistance training workout
- Perform flexibility exercises (stretching) using correct technique
Cognitive:
The students will be able to:
- Locate and identify eight major muscle groups
- Learn and apply terminology for proper technique (neutral position, positive, negative, flex, extend and contract)
- Track progress on a Resistance Training Log
- List weight room safety procedures.
- Choose different strengthening exercises specific to the major muscles of the body.
Affective:
The students will be able to:
- Apply weight room safety throughout the workout
- Assist their peers in executing proper technique for resistance training exercises.
- Demonstrate weight training etiquette
