OBJECTIVES:

Psychomotor:

The students will be able to:

  • Perform a developmentally appropriate resistance training workout
  • Perform flexibility exercises (stretching) using correct technique

Cognitive:

The students will be able to:

  • Locate and identify eight major muscle groups
  • Learn and apply terminology for proper technique (neutral position, positive, negative, flex, extend and contract)
  • Track progress on a Resistance Training Log
  • List weight room safety procedures.
  • Choose different strengthening exercises specific to the major muscles of the body.

Affective:

The students will be able to:

  • Apply weight room safety throughout the workout
  • Assist their peers in executing proper technique for resistance training exercises.
  • Demonstrate weight training etiquette
